Sample Sale Wedding Dresses are designer wedding dresses that are in good to brand new condition and are just either discontinued fro the designer or just past season and I need to make room for new gowns arriving. These dresses are purchased off the rack, sold as-is and taken home the same day. These are typically in sizes bridal 8-14 – every day size 4-10.
Special Order Gowns are wedding dresses that will not be sold off the rack and instead ordered new in your size. These gowns can also be customized if need be to fit or achieve a certain look for a bride.
Some tips below as each appointment is only 45 minutes long. And not a typical bridal appointment!
1. Experienced Shoppers Only
Sample wedding dress sales are not recommended for brides who have not shopped for gowns before. The point of a sample sale is to find the gown of your dreams at a bargain price! If you have never tried on gowns before, it is not possible to know what silhouette will flatter your figure. Sample sales are often overwhelming, and your first bridal shopping experience should be relaxed and shared with those closest to you. I highly recommend a full bridal consultation appointment for first-time shoppers.
2. Sample Sizes Are Not Universal
Generally, sample sizes are 8’s and 10’s and are made for a B cup. If you are under 5’5″ or over 5’11” and are larger than a C cup, it is not recommended that you shop at a sample sale. I am able to customize my full price gowns for brides to accommodate all shapes and sizes. If you are petite, well-endowed or have some other specific size requirement, it is recommended that you schedule a full bridal consultation appointment instead.
3. Bring Your Decision Makers
Sample sales are for serious shoppers and brides who are ready to buy! During a sample sale, you will need to make a decision very quickly. Only 2 people allowed in with you. So bring 1-2 individuals whose opinions matter to you the most and who can aid you in selecting your perfect gown. I do not hold samples. If you love it, you should buy it before it is gone! I also do not haggle on price. I have priced the gowns at a generous discount and the price is the price.
4. Do Your Research
An educated bride is our favorite bride! Before coming to the sale, be sure that you have tried on gowns and know the specific silhouettes and details that flatter you. Check out my pre-shop page and filter by SALE and make a wishlist of the gowns that you would like to try on. (This list can change at any time). Research our designers and know which ones you will target first!
5. Be Prepared to Share
Please remember that a sample sale environment can be quite different than a regular shopping experience at Dream. You will be sharing a space and dressing room with another bride. Only 2 brides will be allowed in at a time. So wear good undergarments if you are shy. No makeup, perfume or spray tan to keep the dresses pretty. Be ready to make fast decisions and to have fun!
Important to note: All payments for dresses are to be made in full by either cash or credit card. Sale gowns must be taken home the same day and I do offer cleaning services if needed.
